Cats for Adoption

The Durham & District branch currently has cats living in pens at privately owned kennels, as well as a few in the homes of volunteer fosterers.
Cat Adoption Procedure
Cat and kit adoptions usually start with an exchange of information by telephone, this helps prospective adopters to focus on the pet that will fit in with their family and lifestyle. We then invite them to see suitable pets at the cattery or a fosterer’s home. If the family have pets we ask them to bring vaccination books with them on this first visit.
We have so many cats that sometimes people are spoilt for choice and need to go and think about the shortlist we have put together and these pets will be reserved for a short period. Home visits do not happen until a choice has been made and the reserve is extended until all is concluded happily on both sides. Cats go out neutered, chipped, wormed, deflead and at least the 1st out of the 2 vaccines done.
The donation fee is £50 per cat. Kittens have less done due to their size/age and may not be neutered if they are too young but have at least 1st vac wormed, deflead and vet checked. You will be given a voucher to pay for the neutering for kittens who are adopted before they are old enough. Kitten donations are £ 60.
