We are a separately registered charity linked to the National RSPCA.  Our main purpose is to assist the Inspectors working for the National Charity by looking after animals which come into the RSPCA care. We can also provide limited assistance with neutering and vet costs.

Except for the cruelty line, the numbers are manned by volunteers who are unable to assist with either wild animals or stray dogs; unowned cats may be dealt with on a case by case basis. If a wild animal is hurt you can take them to a vet; for stray dogs contact the local council. If you need to contact a volunteer about a dog you can email ddog@rspcadurham.org.uk and the message will be passed to the dog co-ordinators.

The Branch held it’s AGM on 28 May 2015 at Witton Gilbert Community Centre at 7.00 pm.
